Ask your assistant about your pet's activity, review weight history, or log an event in DogNote.
https://api.dognote.app/mcp as a custom MCP connector in your assistant. Choose OAuth sign-in.In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector. In Codex, open Settings → MCP servers → Add server and choose Streamable HTTP, then authenticate.
A directory listing may need approval before it appears in search. The custom connector uses the same endpoint.
Your assistant should ask before making changes. Deleting an event is permanent and can affect every pet attached to that event.
The connector can list your families, active pets, event types, events, and weights, and read pet profiles and notes. If you allow changes, it can create, edit, and delete events and save weights. It cannot manage your account, family membership, or invitations.
Access follows your current family memberships. Leaving a family removes access to its data through the connector too.
Open DogNote → Settings → DogNote MCP to disconnect one assistant or turn off all MCP access. Disconnection invalidates that connection's credentials. Connections expire after 180 days without a token refresh. Active connections have no fixed reconnection deadline.
This section describes the DogNote MCP service provided by Ragnar Rebase, Restack. It supplements the DogNote Privacy Policy.
When you connect an assistant, you authorize its provider to receive the DogNote information returned by the tools it calls. This can include family names, pet names and profile details, pet notes, event descriptions and timestamps, the identifiers of people who logged events, and weight records. Share only information you want that assistant to process. The assistant provider's own privacy policy governs its handling of this information.
DogNote authenticates each connection using OAuth. Your DogNote password is entered on DogNote's sign-in page, not sent to your assistant. Credentials for MCP are separate from app login tokens. DogNote stores hashes of its connection codes and MCP access and refresh tokens.
The MCP service records daily aggregate usage counts by account, endpoint or tool, outcome, and HTTP status. It does not store tool arguments, tool results, or conversation contents in those counters. Credential endpoints and the app's connection-code screen exclude sensitive content from error telemetry.
Expired credentials are removed by daily cleanup. Disconnecting an assistant deletes its grant and retained refresh-token hashes. Deleting your DogNote account removes its MCP credentials and usage counters. Pet and event data remain subject to DogNote's account and deletion controls.
